The Foster-Thomason-Miller House, 1883
Madison, Georgia
Built at the height of the Aesthetic Movement as “the most elegant country home in Middle Georgia”, the original elaborate interior reflected the tenets of Oscar Wilde’s lecture on ‘The House Beautiful’ given by Wilde in Atlanta on July 4, 1882. Located on over 11 acres of land, at over 5,000 sq. ft., with 5 bedrooms and 14 ft. ceilings, much of historic interior remains intact, however, total restoration is necessary—fire damage in stairwell, back of house, main and back roofs.
